【TKU】iST Continues to Care for Economically Disadvantaged Students, No Loneliness in Studying

When chairman of iST Danny Yu left his hometown for the first time to study at Tamkang University, he had no idea that his family was struggling financially, and on the verge of bankruptcy. The economic burden of the family rested solely on his mother’s shoulders, and despite the hardships, she did her best to send him monthly living expenses while he was away from home.

One time, however, after waiting for two months without receiving the expected remittance from home, he had no choice but to call his family in Taitung. It was then that he found out his father had used the crucial living expenses to repay debts in his desperation.

Chairman Danny Yu understands how difficult it is for economically disadvantaged students to “focus on studying.” As a result, he continues to give back to his alma mater, ensuring that younger students have a steady hand to support them on their dedicated academic and research path, encouraging them to strive for better educational quality.
